3rd 6 Weeks Golden Shamrock Award

The STEM Academy teachers would like to recognize our recent recipients of the Golden Shamrock award.  This award goes out to STEM Academy students who embody the ideals and characteristics put forth in our Mission Statement and Honor Concept. For the 3rd 6 weeks, the recipients are Cinnie Lin, Baxter Robb, Soley Davidsdottir, and Clayton Howeth.

English Book

The English books for the 9th and 10th grade students are still available from Barnes & Noble through Friday.  We will start using these books in both English and Engineering starting on Monday, Jan 31.

West Point Bridge Competition

We have put together a local competition for the West Point Bridge Competition.  The competition is a national event hosted by the US Military Academy.  Prizes include scholarships and notebook computers.  We will be running our local competition through the end of the year right before finals.  We will have a live finals competition with the winners having the opportunity to present their design at the Engineering Expo in November.  

End of the semester

I hope you all had a fun and restful break.  Two big things are happening this week.  First, the end of the semester is approaching.  Finals information is posted on the teachers' websites.  You can find links on this blog.

Second, registration for 2011-2012 has begun.  We are excited about the upcoming activities for the Spring Semester and upgrades for the next year.  I have been discussing these with the students this week.  You will be able to see a number of these upgrades in the course guide coming home today.  A digital copy can be found on the CHS website.

Varsity Engineering Letter

The Varsity Letter Hard Hats have arrived.  It's been a long 6 months waiting for them to arrive, but they are finally here.  We will be having a special recognition for the recipients at the February Booster Club meeting to recognize them for the hard work they have done.
