I want to take a moment and thank everyone for their hard work and support for the Engineering Expo this year. The Expo was a huge success again this year. I can definitely say that it was the best ever. We had schools from around the country and they are all eager to have our students enroll after graduation. Several are already making arrangements to come back to see our students again this year in class. We are also working on arrangements to do an out of state camp this summer as a group. Our students did an outstanding job of showing the community the hard work and dedication they have put into their studies and projects. Their ability to explain their work and to relate to everyone from small children to practicing engineers is phenomenal.
There are so many people who contributed to the success of the expo, that if I try and name all of them, I will likely end up leaving someone off the list unintentionally. I would like to recognize few people who did rise above the call of duty. Christy Wilkinson and Michelle Harvey both have children who already graduated, but came back and did a fantastic job of helping out with a lot things that were very much in need with the loss of a few key people over the summer. Kevin Cowan and his wife Andrea spent countless hours getting things ready and it showed. Lori Shaw stepped in late and assumed a number of key roles as well. I could keep going on. We had at least 20 parents there on Saturday to help with set up and I lost count of the number that were there throughout the day on Sunday. Everyone was fantastic and all of the visitors and exhibitors had a great day. I am already excited for next year's Expo.
