The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Annual Pre-College Symposium

The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Annual Pre-College Symposium: November 16, 2012 at UTD. The event is held in conjunction with the Annual SHPE professional Conference (which is in Fort Worth this year) to support middle and high school students’ exploration of college and STEM careers.  SHPE is interested in getting as many DFW students to participate as possible. A Texas donor has provided the funds for the first 800 students to attend at NO COST.

High School: SHPE will provide a day of workshops and presentations for high school students to gain valuable knowledge about career opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and a college fair where they will talk to college representatives. They will also tour the campus of UT at Dallas.

Middle School: SHPE will provide hands-on workshops that will introduce middle school students to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields to inspire them to pursue careers in such fields.

REGISTRATION:  If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity or sharing it with your principals, REGISTER at http://www.shpefoundation.org/pre-college/ahetems-pre-college-symposia/.
