I hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July.
The Solar Car Race is July 16-19 at Texas Motor
Speedway. We will be racing from 2-5 on Monday, 9-12 and 2-5 on Tuesday
and Wednesday, and 9-2 on Thursday. Everyone is welcome to come out and
check out the excitement. It is a free event and open to the
public. Come in the south tunnel entrance and head to the infield.
Follow the signs to the Cup Garage at the north end of the infield.
We will be having a Solar Race Team Parent Meeting on Monday
7/9 at 6pm in Room D103. There is a bunch of information to go over
before the race. There are also some forms that have to be filled out
that evening.
Be sure to check out the work and meeting schedules on our
calendars. You can find them on the blog at
coppellengineering.blogspot.com
The STEM Boot Camp is for ALL 2012 STEM students (new and
old). We will be doing a lot of team building activities and putting the
mentoring groups together. There is no experience necessary. This
is a fun activity for all of the students. Camp is free and is being held
on Friday 8/10 from 1-4 and Saturday from 9-11.
The STEM Family Picnic is on Saturday 8-11 from 11-1.
All STEM students, parents, and siblings are invited/encouraged to
attend. The picnic is a great way to get everyone together for a fun
social event before school starts. We do need help from a couple of
parents to help with set up/ clean up and someone to help us find a place to
take any leftover food after the picnic so we don’t have to throw it
away. Sign up info is attached and on the Engineering website at www.coppellisd.com/engineering
We will be packing up the last of the stuff in the labs for
summer cleaning on Monday 7/9 at 9am. We need as many people as
possible to get this accomplished. The custodial staff will be taking
everything out of the labs later in the month to clean for the start of school.
We want to make sure everything is safely packed up so things don’t get
damaged.
We will be putting the labs back together after the summer
cleaning on Monday, July 16 at 9am. We need help getting things moved
into place, computers hooked up, etc for the start of school.
Thanks.
